blood oath only works for base points into the skill

yes I tested this on release against a hammerdin with 100% reduction/20 blood oath, 70%+ reduction/1 blood oath, and 45% reduction/20 blood oath. the 100/45% tests reduced the same amount of damage, while the 70% test reduced basically nothing

virtually none of what you guys are saying is true, i've tested every warlock skill pretty rigorously (except flame wave cuz that one is too complex to be worth the effort).

blood oath applies % damage you take to your demon after your resistances are accounted for, but it ignores the demon's resistances when applying the damage. it works exactly as the tooltip states for all elements. 100% damage redirection makes me immortal to everything until my demon dies

I tried 100% online and it clearly wasn't working against pvp damage. you will take around 1.2k damage from a 13k damage hammer with 20 blood oath whether your tooltip says 45% or 100%

i figured out what it is. despite stating it uses soft points, and even in the files it uses softpoints... as it uses ln12 function to calculate, a softpoint function, a function used by more than half the skills in the game, specifically for blood oath.. it ignores soft skill points. not sure how or why. there's a good chance the entire skill is hardcoded to only use hardpoints instead of softpoints, so everything is very likely only scaling with hardpoints despite everything saying otherwise seems to only be the damage redirection. resistances works as normal.

I don't know how it works. But i'm SURE that i wasn't getting hit for nearly half damage.

wdym? for reference, i can set the value straight up to 100 and it works as intended. i can set it to 99 and it works as intended. i can set the ln parameters to be 99+0*lvl and it works as intended. but once i tried 50+50*lvl, i took exactly half damage even with 50 skill points (1 hardpoint). the moment i invested another hardpoint, i became immune to damage.

I have 47% damage going to the demon. But i'm getting hit far harder than it should. I don't know the cause, if only hard points works or is some bug. But the damage reduced shown by the skill is not working.
