A tiny thought:
When an ant falls from a tree, gravity pulls on it with the same force as it would pull upon a full-sized human or a ginormous quarry truck that is in free fall. The ant, though, does not splat.

Reasons for the non-splatting:
* their mass is tiny
* air resistance greater due to their weight
* their free fall terminal velocity is reached instantly and it is very slow compared to a full-sized human's free-falling
* the ant is gently drifting down, even though gravity's force is acting upon it as like it does for all things free-falling
