I've seen conflicting guides stating maxing out MF % chance vs having between 300-400% chance and was wondering what people found best.

currently on my mf hdin sitting at exactly 400% but have space and ability to go higher if needed.

400% is overkill imo

200-250% seems like the sweet spot

any particular farming spot for this or just in general?

I'm running 262% at the moment. You don't need anymore than that.
When running Lower Kurast on 8players with this percentage the chests can pop 6 yellow rares and no blues at all. That's how you can tell you are on the money.

What's your gear?
Most go for less mf% but higher player count, and more damage for faster clear speed is why.

If you're farming specific areas, or are looking for a specific item, some mf changes are helpful,but fir the most part, hoe others are posting 200%-300%


Personally, If I'm farming with my hammerdin, I'm at around 300% with good bps and dmg

I thought mf didn't affect chests?

I saw a detailed post and I don't remember the exact number it's either 250 or 300% before you start seeing diminishing returns. With full damage build for p7 and defensive charms you'll get around 200% with gheeds, enigma and shako+new jewel. If you're playing lower player count or softcore I would just stack mf as much as you can without lowering your speed.

You can follow this chart to see how your magic find % affects rare, set, and unique drops as well. Note the diminishing returns. I personally like running anywhere between 200-300, whatever I can fit onto the character while still maintaining absolute beast status!

I noticed my LK runs are better with it at the percentage I have. Could be cos I'm popping regular chests and weapon racks and all of that along the way too though.
I also think locked chests are impacted by MF too. It appears that way that if the chest is locked in LK it pops better with balanced MF on. That's just my experience with it anyway...
