I use a 3bo/3wc/3 fine item hel;m with 2 Lem Runes in it. Hard to grab a circlet for me.

Well I have an eth GPA base, but did not intend to use it before CorruptBovine's post. I was going to decide between WP and GT.

Why would you not use a GPA?


might as well use a war pike for breakpoints i guess is my answer
at the end of the day if you have eBOTD shit will die, but war pike and GT are uncontested best two imo

Thank you. And from your experience you'd chose WP since it is stil op raw dmg wise, albeit the much slower attack speed than GT? With GT I'd reach 9 FPA for both attacks. Or is that kinda minmaxing and WP or GT wont actually matter at the end of the day?

basically GT with gface works well because the crit allows for bursty hits which then lets the merc move on immediately to the next target, whereas WP gets big damage range top-end which does the same thing

they do save them if you don't log out with the skill equipped (which is pretty fucking funny), or at least it was like that for the first year or so


No change whether skill equipped or not. Sadly. I use quick cast skills though, maybe thats why..

unsure, didn't fuck with spellsteel sunders; decrep lasts like 5 seconds and feels so shit to reapply everytime as you always have to swap away from the main set

if anything i'm pretty sure the reasonable alternative is primary set Beast/Void with Enigma or tele amulet
or
Grief/450% +Enigma/Tele gear and a 900% goldfind swap (or ali babas I guess)

I don't hate the idea of Beast + Void primary set if Sunders work at full capacity, but I'd need to fuck around with it.


I did just test with the old sunder. on a stone skin phys immune, after reaper merc procs decrep, it was hardly doing any dmg (looked to be just a tiny bit of elem dmg). I doubt the behavior changed with new sunders, but dont have one to test with

Thing is Reaper Decrep comes from Merc and merc doesn't get the sunder. Basically I'd need to test with Decrep coming from Barb WITH Sunder active, as it should apply at full power.

just tested it with lethargy charges ring + sunder; merc did 0 dmg.
btw, lethargy charges might be the way to go; the +% dmg taken is the same internal game stat as amp/decrep. an rlvl 24 ring has 30 level 4 charges for +23% dmg taken; can prbly find this stat on circs/ammy at higher lvl.

Daggers can roll up to lv8, but it's a really low % of damage increase compared to Amp (100%) when I look. Did they change the skill somehow? It shows 27% damage increase at level 8, which is the max level I can seem to roll as charges. It's worse than even Decrep, sadly, which is already worse than Amp.

I think the dmg increase with higher lvl charges is minimal.

This can't compete with amp or decrep on basis of dmg, but the difference is you can get these on accessory slots; while with the curses you have to equip on weap and deal with gold loss during those kills. Lethargy is also quite good as it slows down their attacks/frw by 50% (maybe less fleeing?) and defence reduction too. I'm spitballing here but there's definitely a use case on low gear lvl, and maybe even a use case at end game gear lvl.
