heyo,

I hope one or more of you are kind enough to explain to me which kind of staffs I shouldn't charsi, cause so far I'm treating them as igg-sources only.

Archon Staff (eth?) seems to be in demand though and also at least one other type.

so help me and break it down for me:

- which staff types are worth looking at
- how many sockets are interesting to have on them
- do they need skills as well

(eth) archon staff with good ed are used for botd 0/6s

war staff is often used for cta 5s (energy shield or cold sorcarmor skills on em for prebuff)

4sox staff prebuff for memory with 2-3 energyshield too

I feel there will be better expertise out there then me
But from what i understand pretty much the only staff base worth anything is a 4soc staff with 3es for prebuffing with a 9es memory
I think rarely people put ebotd into archon staves but thats niche

u want 4 socket energy shield 3 or 6 socket good skill 3 basically. maybe 2 socket 3 good fire skill

There are mainly five runewords that you can do with staves

1) Insight (4sox)
> Usually not so needed but with the new warlock insight is now one of the best weapon for him so a eth elite insight (elder staff, archon staff) will have very high damage
> Can also be used by sorc for lld or other type as a starting ladder weapon

2) Obsession (6sox)
> Very good for sorc a good base is usually +3 to a main skills (fire ball, nova, blizzard, lightning...), a very good base has also +X to the mastery (3fire ball 3fire mastery worth about 2000-2500)
> Now with warlock that can one-hand staves, any random obsession is very good for them

3) Memory (4sox)
> Only good for sorc with a 3es staff, good adds might be one of the cold armors, enchant...

4) BotD (6sox)
> Eth archon staves have huge damage so they are a good base for botd, before it was mainly for fury druids now very décent also for warlock

5) CTA (5sox)
> As a prebuff weapon it's good with prebuff skills (3es, cold armors, enchant...)

will eth archon staff > eth CV for insight on warlock rn?
