1. You Cannot Bind Full HP Monsters
If the target has ≥99% life, Bind Demon has a 0% chance to succeed.
You must damage the monster first.
Even 1% damage is enough to unlock the mechanic.
2. The Tooltip Does NOT Show the Real Chance
The displayed % only shows: Base Bind Chance (from skill level) + Death Mark synergy
It does NOT include the monster life bonus.
The effective in-game chance is calculated from three parts combined.
3. 1st: Bind Demon % Chance Is NOT Linear
Base chance is calculated via: 7 + 24.2 × L / (L + 6)
Where L = Bind Demon level (with +skills).
Early levels give strong gains. Later levels scale slower.
It asymptotically approaches ~29% base chance.
4. 2nd: Death Mark Adds Hard Points Only
Synergy formula: +1% per hard point in Death Mark
5. 3rd: Missing Monster Life Adds Directly
The real formula adds: (100 − Current HP%)
Example: 90% HP > +10% chance and 1% HP > +99%
The lower the monster’s life, the stronger bind becomes.
(This part is NOT shown in the tooltip.)
6. There Is (Almost Certainly) a 100% Cap
Because the formula can exceed 100% at low HP, the game very likely caps success chance at 100%.
At very low monster life, Bind becomes practically guaranteed.
7. 197 Monsters Can Be Bound
The formula is identical for all valid targets.
Bind does not scale differently per monster type — only HP% changes the outcome.
8. Consuming monsters grants bonuses
Each bound monster can also be consumed.
Consuming a monster grants you between 1 and 3 bonuses including auras.
Possible auras are: conviction, holy fire, cleansing, vigor, mediation
9. Bonuses are not random
Each monster has fixed possible bonuses with a range for the effective value.
10. Lister is not only good being your bound demon
Lister grants the highest damage boost for all consumable monsters in the game.
Formular is: damagepercent = Slill-Level × 5 + 150
With lvl 20 you get 250% extra damage. Maybe nice for pvp.
