Speak dolphin. That's the first step in becoming Aqua Man.
Aquaman doesn’t strictly “speak dolphin.” That’s a huge oversimplification of what his powers actually are.
Aquaman has telepathic marine communication. That means he can mentally communicate with all sea life—fish, whales, sharks, kraken, alien sea creatures, you name it. Dolphins just get singled out because people think it sounds funny or relatable.
He’s not out here chirping and clicking like a SeaWorld trainer.
More importantly, talking to sea animals isn’t even the core of being Aquaman. His defining traits are:
- Superhuman strength (often on Superman-tier in water)
- Extreme durability
- Enhanced speed and reflexes
- Oceanic pressure resistance
- Command over marine life via telepathy
- Leadership as king of Atlantis
So “learning dolphin” isn’t step one.
It’s not step anything.
That’s like saying the first step to becoming Batman is learning how to growl.
At best, dolphins are just one species he can communicate with—not his gimmick, not his origin, and definitely not the qualification.
If you read all that, I'm sorry. I'm just kidding and TBH I can see what you're saying.
