You know, after the last major mass shooting in the US we started imprisoning the parents of school shooters on little more than a tenuous degree of responsibility for their child, even though we simultaneously charge the kid as an adult and responsible for his own actions. But getting over that obvious legal paradox, its just plain fucking alarming how there is zero talk in the MSM about the parents of this school shooter. The mother was encouraging her child's delusion, actively reinforcing his mental illness even as he become increasingly dangerous and had mental health visits and was filming himself with guns. The mother got herself and one of her other children killed by her own parenting, and from the sounds of it he was going to the school in an attempt to murder the rest of his family, happy to kill some innocent children along the way.

Father trying to re-enter the child's life after being kept away by the mother, and he was doing it in a legal responsible matter from what I can see and the mother just fled away each time while lying to various family services bodies. Clearly the mother was mentally ill and not fit to own firearms, or care for a child.
Now, the issue we have is we don't have a care system that can handle more foster kids. Anecdotally I live in the North where family violence is the highest by a massive margin. Kids come beat daily to school, inform the school, who informs the RCMP and Social Services and that's where it dies. Nothing is ever done because there's no where to place these kids.
And If I am being extremely honest, even myself and wife as caring people, I cant take in FAS kids. Its to much to help foster, and many are impacted by FAS. So people aren't putting their hands up to help alleviate the system.
And that ties me back to this., RCMP and Social Services know, if they take that kid, who is probably already sort of for lack of better words, fucked up, that child wont get homed and will bet put in some overcrowded shelter.
We just don't have the capacity in current systems to deal with this. In a perfect world, certain individuals just wouldn't have kids but that's not reality.
I suspect many kids even here now take refuge online and who knows rhetoric makes its way to some of these groups who are already emotionally charged due to their dog shit life.
