All airspace around El Paso has been closed by the FAA for 10 days.
No reason provided beyond 'security' and it being a military TFR. Very much beyond any previous FAA shutdown even including 9/11. The El Paso airport is closed. Only clue is that its limited to 18000 ft and above that is open.

Anything beyond that is speculation, which is running rampant. Could be a weapons test or weapons test failure posing a threat, but altitude makes it more likely they have some report of a potential MANPADs terror attack and have shut down all flights in caution, since thats just above their effective limit of 13k
And notably no exceptions for medevac flights or military flights

God, this is just going to put more pressure on the moronic buy back program in place. I posted this earlier but I was sent the list since I am a registered licence holder and owner of many firearms, and a huge % of them were just clearly because of style, not function. I have semi-autos that carry out the exact same function but not in AR style.

Unfortunately I think you are right that this will be used as a pretense to make the gun confiscation worse, and expand gun laws in general. I have a few newer guns, none of which are on the list, but I'm more worried that they will use this to expand the list to include basic semi autos, pump shotguns and the like. I haven't seen information about what weapon the shooter used, I heard he at least used a shotgun at home first, obviously essentially any gun can be used to do a shooting like this.

Anything to deflect from the elephant in the room being mental health and the overlap of transgenderism.
