For the last 2 years you disputed the figures published by the authorities (Hamas) in Gaza. This is a fact. Israel has now admitted the figures are correct. This is also a fact. You now want to shift the goal posts to side step the fact.

TheGuardian Article from August 2025:

Ex-Israeli intelligence chief said 50 Palestinians must die for every 7 October victim. ‘It does not matter if they are children,’ said Aharon Haliva in recorded comments calling the death toll ‘necessary’. The Israeli general who headed military intelligence on 7 October 2023 has said 50 Palestinians must die for every person killed that day and “it does not matter now if they are children”, in recordings broadcast by Israel’s Channel 12 TV station. Aharon Haliva said the toll in Gaza, which he put at more than 50,000 dead, was “necessary” as a “message to future generations” of Palestinians. “They need a Nakba every now and then to feel the price,” he added, referring to the mass expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands after the creation of Israel in 1948. Nakba means catastrophe in Arabic. Much of Israel’s leadership and media has used genocidal rhetoric about Palestinians since Hamas’s 7 October attacks, including describing them as “human animals”, saying there are “no innocents” in Gaza and calling for Gaza’s total destruction and its ethnic cleansing. However, Haliva’s description of a campaign of mass killing including children was an unusually direct description of collective punishment of civilians, which is illegal under international law. Haliva, who stepped down from his position in April 2024, also appeared to endorse the casualty figures compiled by health authorities in Gaza, which Israeli officials regularly attack as propaganda. They have proved reliable in past conflicts. Channel 12 said the undated conversations were recorded “in recent months”. The Gaza health ministry’s toll for those killed by Israeli attacks passed 50,000 in March and has recently climbed above 60,000. Israel’s most recent published data on the war put the number of militants killed at about 20,000, so Haliva would have been aware that even by his country’s own count most of the Palestinians killed were civilians. “The fact that there are already 50,000 dead in Gaza is necessary and required for future generations,” he said in the broadcast comments. “For everything that happened on October 7th, for every person on October 7, 50 Palestinians must die. It doesn’t matter now if they are children.”

He was in no way sanctioned for his views, which means this is the views of the Israeli government. The fact that no one went after him for saying this (but but why would anyone go after him for saying this) highlights the fundamental problem with Israeli culture. When I raised with you and Sounded the issue of collective punishment and how In Israeli society this idea is widely accepted as normal you both simply did not understand what the issue was. Look I am not here to bash you, or flame you, and I accept I can not change your mind, but these ideas and action/inaction are fundamentally wrong. I am moving on from this point as its a waste of my time.

I did, there was no independent confirmation, and I also disputed the ratio between civilians and combatants something that was missing from all “reports”

I made a slight edit at the end, just mentioning this for visibility (i am out for the day now). In terms of your clarification, i accept this. I am out for the day but briefly -

in terms of Gaza, and Iran, when you carpet bomb a city, the death toll will be high. knowing how Hamas compiled the figures made it reasonable to accept their figures, which Israel has agreed with in past conflicts.
When people say 40,000 people killed in Iran, there is no precedent, in Iran, to accept these figures at face value, which is why there is a healthy dose of skepticism related to those figures. 40,000 in 2 days is simply not credible, because Iran was not bombing its own people with 2000 lbs bombs. 1000's killed yes, but 40,000? its not credible.

multiple air strikes across gaza last week. if this happened in your country we would be calling it a terrorist attack. For Palestinians, its...tuesday. Israel continues to bomb Gaza daily, with the Washington post noing 32 people were killed in a single airstrike last week. We are now at 70,000+ dead. Meanwhile the violence against Palestinians in the west bank continues to escalate. pretty much like ducks in a barrel.

Israel was supposed to hold to the ceasefire. did they? its the same argument chicken and egg,but the fact remains Hamas have not been a credible threat since Dec 2023 while Israel continues to wage war even after the cease fire.
the total dead is now at 71,000+. While officials in Israel were quoted as saying they were hoping to have a kill ration of 50:1 (50 palestinians for every israeli killed on Oct 7th) they dont seem to bothered to continue to surpass this goal.

If you are living at home, in your country, and you are being bombed daily, would you turn the other cheek or would you or your friends consider armed resistance. its human nature to oppose injustice.

so can you accept the stupidity of bombing Gaza daily, after you won the war? One of the arguments for ww2 was that the allies crippled the germans so much in ww1 that germany grew up with a grudge. surely this notion is not lost on you in the current setting?
