calls all detention centers concentration camps (because that invokes nazi images) because *checks notes* the dictionary makes it seem like that's the best phrase to describe them.

are the teeth being melted to bullion? are they making human lamp shades? of course not. do some people still get poor treatment or hurt? of course, thats been an issue in even low security jails and prisons forever. but lazily tossing out a term to make people think of nazis, and tossing in a history lesson for the bulk of your article is why people dont change any opinion after reading fluff like this.

Yeah, its just so hyperbolic these days. We have had these so called holding camps for a long time in the western-world known as prisons where you put people who did illegal things. People didn't seem to take much issue with that.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand peoples issues with how ICE is handling things at the street level. Especially with long-term residence, people that have been known in communities for 10 + years , they are friends, work at businesses, etc. it gets people emotional to see them ripped away in any aggressive manner but not everything needs to be blown up out of proportion like comparing these holding / detention centers to nazi camps..

thats literally the authors argument lol. so by their logic if you pick up a central american gang member who is known to law enforcement as crossing the border illegally and you place them in a holding cell before extraditing them to El Salvidor that room becomes a concentration camp magically because of the dictionary.

Slapping Nazis on everything nowadays has basically diluted the potency of accusation to nothing. In today's America if you want to enforce immigration laws or vote id laws in line with the most liberal bastions of Europe i.e. Norway, Switzerland, etc, you are labeled a Nazi. Nonsensical really.

I said this before too. It also waters down truly horrific things that happened during that time. The war in Ukraine is not a genocide, deporting people is not Nazism and so on. Imagine you lost your great grand dad to Nazis whether in the war or tortured and you have some blue hair retard saying that's basically the same as someone having to go back to his country.
