Assumption, assumption, assumption - its funny to hear you on one side talk about how science cant figure it out but then just make a leap to god without anyone ever figuring anything out about it as well. A simple idea, yes thats what that is. A VERY simple idea. A simpleton idea you could say.
My failure to understand this...yeah...if you understand it, explain it. Dont be such a pretentious prick. If you accept god as the valid explanation for no reason at all, than please never ever lecture anyone about anything ever again because in that case one could also say its a natural occurance without giving any explanation at all.
Your god of the gaps is the weakest concept of all concepts. We dont know? Well must be god then. Laughable, really.
The only person leveling assumptions here is you, your projection is transparent. Thought itself is divine, man has been bestowed but a meager fraction of God's infinite wisdom. Only a philistine heathen ingrate fails to recognize and appreciate this gift we have received.
I'm not your teacher and this isn't a classroom, kids learn this stuff. Read a book, start with the Bible at Genesis 1.
"God of the gaps" is such an incredibly low IQ viewpoint that it can only be looked down on with contempt but I'll entertain. There are no gaps. God is the foundation for all existence and mechanisms of nature. Your example of lightning is simply man's discernment of the mechanism of just one example of nature, which as it turns out follows the same physicochemical laws as the rest of nature. If you take apart a watch, figure out how it ticks, do you then yell "Aha! This watch works by these mechanisms, therefore no one created it or designed it!"? No. Or at least, you shouldn't. Man's design and creation of machines and instruments is a microcosm of our limited wisdom - our machines are ridiculously crude when compared to God's greatest machine (life).
