Personally, I feel that releasing the files is a foreseeable disaster, motivated by a desire to hurt political enemies.
Epstein was a criminal pedophile, but that does not make everyone who interacted with him guilty. People no longer seem to distinguish between association and wrongdoing, and once they see your name on the list, you are guilty in their eyes. The redactions are a mess and only fuel more conspiracy theories.
The internet is full of fakes designed to target certain people. As much as I dislike some of those involved, meeting him is not a crime, and partying with him is not a crime. We cannot even prove that some of the disgusting passages in the files are true or not.
While I hope this release has at least some positive outcome and leads to renewed investigations, I doubt anyone has the resources to investigate everything without clear, credible indications.
