does any1 play it? worth it?

Lots of people returned for it but not much is drastically different yet however there's probably stuff to come. Considering the game is 20 years old it's exciting to have any updates at all.

They've added an official "iron man" mode, an official hardcore mode, and optimized the game for playing on a Steam Deck but as far as actual content updates goes not much has changed yet. They added Piken Square as an outpost in presearing but that's about the only new thing so far, and as a result presearing is pretty active lately.

If you're expecting new content then you may be disappointed with what we have so far but based on how things are going it seems we might be getting updates about once a month. Reforged isn't an update itself, it's just showing they're experimenting with updating the game and if they see it's successful in bringing players to the game they'll keep doing it.

If you have an existing account you can just login and play. If you want to play through steam you'll need to buy it through steam. Your steam account will be connected when you launch with steam then but you can still login with old account. Any new reforged content like reforged mode, dhuum or melandru will need to make a new character with the modes enabled.

You don't need to buy it on steam to launch it through steam. Just select non steam game in steam.

I was able to launch it through steam without buying it on steam. There is no need to buy the game twice except for ease of use on steamdeck ( less steps to launch it ).

You can "launch" anything through steam but if you don't buy it on steam you are essentially just clicking on a shortcut on your original .exe without any influence from steam. No reason to do so since there is no benefit

There aren't many reasons to buy the game on steam anyways tbh, and ANet makes less money if you do. You can only link one account per steam account as well, and I know most of the players who still play a lot probably have multiple accounts by now.

Main reasons are if you just want to play one account, it auto auths you, and if you have steam cash you can use it to buy the game and eotn/mission pack.

I benefit by using steam's controller support . So yes, there is a reason to do so.

I don't know what controller you use, but reforged has built in controller support in the normal client

Guild Wars 1 is a timeless classic. It's always worth playing!
