Thats what pests do they can annihilate the ecosystem. Thats why we have things like yellowstone wolf projects to get rid of Bambi and introduce beavers back into the wild.

Domesticating feral cats is a costly and time consuming idea. These armchair solutions are impractical and come from individuals who never stepped foot outside their air conditioned office. Most farmers dont have time and patience to adopt 20 feral cats because it would hurt the feelings of some angry vegan karen.

Cats are not endangered species if you want to adopt one good for you but don't push your emotional agenda onto other people. Its not about killing cats for the sake of killing its about protecting your investments and to protect other beautiful exotic birds and critters from getting demolished.

my 2nd post was a bit hippy and spiritual and I wouldn't expect people to agree with it

my 3rd post was pretty solid though, don't shoot feral dogs and cats, just domesticate them. If you don't have the time or resources to do it yourself, then trap them and take them to someone who can

You just sound kind of angry and dumb tbh

I simply mentioned that we shoot feral cats because of the damage they do. You got triggered and started accusing me of being some kind of heartless animal abuser. I pointed out why we do it and that your armchair solutions are impractical. Now I am angry and dumb according to you.

If this isn't a textbook example of being butthurt I don't what is.

it's not impractical, just too much effort, way easier to shoot them, assume that animal is turning the planet into a dust bowl and call it a day so you can get back to posting on jsp

Thats what practical means too much effort for what you are trying to achieve. Look up basic definitions.

I don't assume animals turn the planet into a dust bowl. You are taking things out of context. I said land meaning certain patches of land not the entire planet lol. I was merely illustrating the fact if you don't keep certain pests in check they can alter the environment in a negative way. Even cited Yellowstone wolf project as one example. Should read up on land conservation you sound extremely ignorant.

A pack of coyotes can wipe a farmers entire herd of sheep for example, hogs will cause millions/ billions worth of damage to crops and infrastructure. Wild cats are no different you are absolutely clueless what it takes to put food on the table, you never experienced a loss of stock due to predators.

Catching all the predators is a full time job must be really easy to type on your keyboard instead of doing what you preach. Good luck on your adventures virtue signaling warrior.

too much effort to arrange transport of an animal within a relatively short distance to save its life, give it a new and better life, improve a persons life with a companion and probably create a new business for the person domesticating and selling the animal to it's new owner

yeah too much effort for such little benefit, may as well shoot it and assume it's responsible for all the issues you mentioned above I guess

It can be too much effort. Have you ever caught a feral cat in the forrest before they are not easy to catch? You need to buy multiple traps, bait them, monitor them every day because if you leave it for a week a cat could starve. Then you have to drive out to town and drop it off. Thats assuming there is such an animal shelter. In rural areas it can be many miles to the nearest town/city.

Then you have to feed the damn thing. Someone would have to take it off your hands, give it shelter and sustenance. Because its feral it takes time to train it, give it injections to make sure its not carrying horrible diseases. It will likely be ridden with flees that means washing it.

After you cleaned washed, trained it to be normal you have to register it and then find someone who will take it off your hands. I am probably missing several more steps.

Then do it all over again there could be 10-20 cats a year and I haven't even started talking about all the other problems and pests a farmer has to deal with. Farmers are some of the hardest working people out there you have no idea what it takes.
All that just to appease some angry karen who works in a nice air conditioned office. They don't need more problems.

Is there a shortage of cats where you are at? We dont torture them they go out with a bang, quick and humane. It's easy to be a keyboard warrior until you have to do it yourself.

I think OP said sponsoring instead of housing or fostering. Unless this cat is an alcoholic?

Tl;dr its a lot more expensive and time consuming than you think. I outlined how.
No one is torturing cats here they go out with a bang, quickly and humaine.
