How far would one be willing to go for a lie? People have died for their beliefs that Jesus died and rose again. Let's look at the 12 Apostles and how they met their fates:
Paul - Beheaded
Peter - Crucified upside down
Andrew - Crucified
Thomas - Pierced with spears
Philip - arrested and cruelly put to death
Matthew - Stabbed to death
Bartholomew - Martyred
James - Stoned and then clubbed to death
Simon - Killed after refusing to sacrifice to the sun god
Matthias - Burned
Thaddeus - Arrows
John - Natural death from old age
These people died for their beliefs. If they were preaching a lie, would they have been willing to die for a lie? If you were about to be sentenced to hanging you may make it as far as the steps then change your mind and admit that it was all a lie, just to save yourself.
These people died for the truth and they were willing to go to the grave for it. Nobody would die for a lie. I have listened to many testimonies. People say that they were brought up in a Christian household but when they reached the age of 15-18 they started questioning whether everything they were taught is actually true. They started asking questions and needed further clarification. They go to University Bible Study groups and were able to ask those questions for themselves. Their own thoughts, their own minds. I don't see that as indoctrinated. They were allowed to think for themselves and ask questions. Just like you asked a question about the Genealogy and you received your answer.
You say if God is real then...You are creating God in your own image. That is a dangerous thing to do. Much of what the Lord does, he will only do once.
Hebrews 10:26-27 ESV
"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries."
You are waiting for no reason. The one, perfect sacrifice has been made. You are not going to get anything else. You don't need it. All you need is Jesus.
Remember that nobody would die for a lie but the Apostles died for their beliefs about Jesus that they were all willing to go to the grave over it.
Wrong again, people die for their gods and fictional beliefs all the time. Where do you think drinking Kool aid term comes from? Does it mean that everyone's god is real if people are willing to die for them? No it just means they are fanatics who believe a lie very strongly and are willing to take it to their grave.
All Fanatics and cultists believe that if they pray and believe hard enough it will be true. Sadly they die in the process for nothing or (thankfully) they tend to naturally select themselves out of the gene pool and make excellent front line fodder.
Using emotional persuasion isn't going to help you here proving magic requires a demonstration, physical evidence, a photograph, video, recording, dna, fingerprints, measurements, something concrete and substantial not "feelings"
