classic overcharge and nothing but legal fees will be a punishment. should have just charged with trespassing and moved on.

I think this is the start of a big "see im doing something" phase ahead of midterms. trump will do a lot of this stuff to try and mobilize voters, most of it will not amount to much.

its funny because if you read headlines and Minneapolis stories you'd think we're making some serious progress on trump deportation promises. yet we're at like 300k? which is a joke compared to his promises. this has been the strongest reaction i could have imagined, with the least number of deportations i could have imagined. quite the contrast.

People are either goldfish or they just don't approve of the way things are happening.

There was significant deportation under Obama and Biden that's why when people in this thread say democrats are against deporting illegals I think that's stupid Obama had two terms after all.

I was too young and in university in Canada to pay attention to politics during Obama's time to remember what events took place but I don't recall much, I also don't recall such aggression from authority and I think just like eating meat people are fine with animals dieing but don't necessarily want to see them brutalized in the streets.

But my memory isn't great from Obama's period. I just didn't care about politics at that point in life.

Id just add two points, biden deported WAY less than obama. in fact trump is about to pass biden. iirc he had like 350k over 4 years total, but let in 10 million+. so his numbers are historically bad on both sides.

with obama he moved in silence. most people didnt even know. but once they found out he ended up needing to change his policy to only deport criminal illegals, so towards the end he deported far less. very very very heavy front end tho, dude was a terror of the latino community.
