Homan works in DHS/ICE under Obama and Trump1. as well as working in the field for decades. he was more of a silent guy under Obama but highly effective, deported millions and received awards. combatted traffickers, saved lives, etc. Biden wins in 2020, and he's given his papers. so he retires.

fast forward to September 2024, the FBI under Biden's DOJ sent agents in disguises to do a sting operation out of the blue posing as businessmen to offer Homan 50k in cash for future favors with the Trump whitehouse. literally a retired guy. they didnt disclose how many other targets there were, but likely many, and since there were no other prosecutions it can be assumed that Homan was the only one they collected enough evidence off of to prosecute. Homan denies taking the cash, FBI said he did, the court case was never for real it was just a smear campaign against Trump leading up to the vote. Trump buries the investigation, re-hires Homan, and it all goes away.

but think of the macro view. literal secret police FBI dressing up in plain clothes sent out to without cause do string operations to people tangentially connected to your political rivals in an attempt to jail and smear them. that is a wildly inappropriate use of the FBI that literally no one should support. instead the left repeats it ad nauseum to smear Trump more without ever mentioning that Biden cooked it all up over a bowl of ice cream all for political watergate type motivations.
