Regardless of the tweets authenticity, that does seem to be your stance and Noem's
He had a gun, near ice agents...=the killing is justified.
Shouldn't have been protesting.
In the US senate after the civil war they invented a rule that you can't impugn the motives of other members, because it just degenerates debate into pointless bickering and in the senate's case, fisticuffs. I don't think they'd ever dreamed of a need in a future society for a rule where you can't go around inventing fake beliefs and statements for people who never said such a thing. Its one thing to accuse Trump of being a filthy liar, its another thing to just invent tweets he never posted and argue against them. I don't see the need to take his place and argue against some premise you invented for me, either. I believe the proper response is to say "Fake news" lmao
The intent doesn't seem relevant given the mechanics of the incident. If some variables were changed like gun being brandished, then yes. Even if he was a crazy person, every American is free to hold their own views but not act out per laws. If he was obstructing the road, he should not have been killed for it, especially with weapons not brandished and being disarmed.
You said a long time ago it seems impossible for the left to realize they are swinging their pendulum to far, or something along those lines.
Is it possible for the right to realize the same here?
Every police shooting goes through these same motions. The actions of the guy who got shot don't merit being killed, its not something you earn, its a question of the necessity and reasonable belief someone is in immediate mortal peril and justification to defend themselves.
Pretti's actions and choices only serve to explain how he got himself in that situation and faced a predictable outcome, largely of his own doing, just like Renee Good's case. Neither committed a crime punishable by the death penalty, both put themselves into harms way by harassing federal agents
In Good's case her reckless actions and disregard for the safety of those around her created a clear potentially lethal threat to the officer who shot her, and in Pretti's case it sure looks like his own gun betrayed him and caused the gunshot that provoked a lethal response
What is the right doing here? A major escalation of.... federal agents enforcing the law. Not even to its fullest extent, not even doing dragnets to sweep up illegal aliens, but simply targeting
convicted criminals and arresting them for deportation.
What is the left doing here? Biting people's fingers off. Putting up barricades and burning mattresses. Swarming and brawling with law enforcement officers. Stalking, harassing, attacking, threatening, ramming, etc.
The pendulum hasn't even started to swing back. The MSM made a big controversy out of the attempts by ICE to reunite a 5 year old child abandoned by her parents. If they were really acting like stormtroopers they'd be charging into crowds killing people indiscriminately like the Peterloo massacre.
Instead what we've got is passive aggressive militancy leading to deaths. Someone gets into the face officers and provokes a confrontation and then plays the victim when it comes to blows, even if its a mistake or their own fault.
