They've had two nearly identical cases now

An illegal alien man is the target of an ICE raid for some existing warrant. He's with a young child (5 years old / 2 years old) and apprehended. The agents try to return the child to the custody of the mother who is at the scene/in the home, but she refuses to take the kid. In the 5 year old's case, the ICE agents were outside the door, asking the mother to open it and take the child back, declaring the mother wasn't a target and they would not apprehend her. But a mob was already there shouting 'don't open the door' and she refused to take the kid. Leaving ICE with the option of either separating the kid from his family and sending him to a 3rd party like child services / orphanage, or keeping the kid with the father as he's deported. Which is what they did in both cases, since that's following established procedures.

Then we get a whole bunch of headlines about ICE deporting a 5 year old (and 2 year old)
