"Hardcore Guild Alliance" needs to be created between Guilds that play Hardcore.

Idea is simple:

Unite and establish Item Sets for beginners (new players), it doesn't matter what guild they join, it is just establishing more Player Base for more runs etc.

Well, my idea is for more of a united front to set up new players with gear from what we have hoarded to make sets for faster and better runs to Master Quest similar to Softcore... and this does NOT ignore SC players willing to participate on Hardcore.

Hardcore items are actually either Cheaper or Higher in price based on the seller... so Bargains can be achieved at this time... however, that is up to the HC Guild Alliance etc.

Just an idea, please input your advice if or why not to implement it.

Thanks.

I can give you my feedback. I am sorry to say this but most hardcore players dont even play with you If you have like 120ee weapons/ charms.

On top of that they just try to do full whistle climbs to finish fast and not risque deaths and they get items via transmuting in guild.

Even inside the guilds, ppl are hording stuff and wont help. Maybe it is a trust issue.

But lets face It game lost some good features and gained bad ones so most of the slashers quit becouse game feels like a chore and It is not that fun anymore.

Maybe playing with 200 ee items is fun but to get there feels almost impossible when you get 1 good item per year.

Your idea is great but sadly an utopia.

lets just post items/events available in hardcore in a topic like this for new players or just post in catacombs sub forums?
I support this idea Rex but its something that I think would be helpful if its managed in public here vs some private thing.
Ive also thought about something like your idea here however maybe it would be better if there was some kind of low level quests that would allow new players to have some base line gear that would be acceptable for basic whistle gameplay and such kinda like finding warts leg in diablo and adding gems to it for more damage when you dont have anything else.

Hi Matt, hope all is well.

Public announcement of items could (not would) undermine trades and the economy of Hardcore items, thus I think it should be kept private so that guilds could manage items with new players and helping them grow in the community.

Another way is to make it a "Hardcore Competition" like we did years ago... you remember Andy took my idea and started the competition... Complete 20 Master quests and the winners can choose items out of the items donated by others and of course, forum gold prizes given to the first 3 players to complete it, first in first served and the others collect in order... however that competition also applied that others that completed it could pick items leftover, even if they were the 5th person to complete 20 Master Quests. (note: Master Quest attempts only, unlocking or Guild Points don't add anything.)

Now the headache is whom is going to hold all the items and be online to trade these items to the winners, as for the forum gold that is simple to transfer.

Will a Moderator or Trusted hold the items? How would we send items to them? How much FG would they need to open Vault slots to store items? Will the Mod/Trusted organize sets and take the time to list them for the competition? In reality Paul should contribute in some way to make it happen, but that is just a dream concept.

As for:

"... some kind of low level quests that would allow new players to have some base line gear that would be acceptable for basic whistle gameplay and such kinda like finding warts leg in diablo and adding gems to it for more damage when you dont have anything else."

The game is too easy at low, mid levels and Quests won't do anything, I mean the Objectives now are just inconsequential with the updates to this day, players moaning about Monster abilities removing player abilities is a joke compared to the past when not playing with abilities, so many changes, yet level 1 to 45 is simple as pie and faster than before, the only hard points are high levels, 70+ and the current Objectives don't really make any difference.

Don't get me wrong, for new players it is new and exciting and they feel it has some measure of danger or excitement getting objectives etc... but adding in a buff quest is pointless at early levels ... just my opinion, the game is way too easy from level 1 to 55 as is, no need to make it easier.

Actually, remove whistle and see how many people cry, even those that are older players playing the game in the old days, or when Abilities never existed... so many things changed.

Sorry, just ranting.

Yup, we need something to bring Hardcore to prosper once again. :P

They should remove whistle for sure. Make an inteligent autopilot that explore the maze and remove the damn whistle. Yes game might be harder but game will be more fun and you will feel good about doing objectives. Objectives are irrelevant now.

Another idea is for us to just make high level characters (allowing us to tank and heal) and whistle in reverse, whistling lower level monsters for the group (dangerous in hardcore! having high level driver) setting the whistle level to the optimum level for the lower players in the group (They do damage but you heal them and tank and provide the open quests to the game when made but help them up using you high level character ). I know this sounds counter productive to some but is useful in some circumstances in my opinion.

Reminds of the old bridging system and Datis using his high level Guardian to tank while the rest of us used to explore catacombs... I doubt you would need to lower Whistle level at all, just keep it to the drivers level. Whistle only spawns monsters equivalent to the character level, there is no higher or lower level... so if they are level 15, only level 15 monsters will spawn. Not confirmed, but only written in updates. Oh, and no such thing as bridging anymore, :D

Above would also ignore a lot of the objectives since whistling. Still an idea for those that want to do this, also the high level character may just be there to collect Skill items to mute / glyph etc.
