You got those euphemisms down to a t comrade. Well we are enjoying the power generated from the uranium from those very same warheads we put pressure on Ukraine to disband. So we do owe them something. Otherwise Ukraine wouldn't need us right now and we wouldn't be enjoying all this power.

Besides Russia is always a threat and if we abandon our allies our enemies will grow stronger. Just look at how the leftist virus has infected the minds of so many Americans. If we dont deal with this now soon little Gambol won't be able to get a nickel for his grandma.

Lol that’s not true either. Ukraine’s nuclear weapons went to Russia for deconstruction, not to America. And Russia actually paid them with fuel for Ukraine’s nuclear reactor. We are actually the only ones in this deal NOT enjoying the power generated from those warheads.

We owe them nothing.

Russia’s GDP is smaller than Italy’s… they are not a threat to us, haven’t been for a long time and have no prospects for becoming one again any time soon.

Except the second anyone tries to put a military base next to us uncle sam begins worrying and sweating profusely. Tells me he needs my financial support towards defending these existential threats. Not buying it.
Russia has more nukes than us it doesn't matter how big their GDP is. It will always be threat.

Thats why we do not fuck with other nuclear countries. We only pick on the fat kids with asthma and shake them down for oil.

They can end the world if they want. That's not a threat because they aren't insane regardless of how hard the West tries to convince us that they are. They can't do anything without their own civilization collapsing. It just makes it harder for us to fuck with them so we have to do it with weird proxies like Ukraine.

North Korea is more of a threat because they actually are insane. A nuclear Iran would be more of a threat than Russia for the same reason.

Operative word "were". They were sold on this utopia and surprise surprise it didn't work out. Afterwards they didn't want anything to do with communism. You are talking about pre 1991 Ukraine which was really taking orders on behalf of Russians.

After their independence they made it abundantly clear they wanted nothing to do with Russia and join nato and be allies with the west.

Not exactly. You've missed a lot of information that was already posted here, many times btw

Post USSR Ukraine ended up divided, the Eastern part leaning towards Russia the Western part leaning towards the West.

Many ethnic Russians live there, speak Russian and go to the Russian orthodox church. Many cities in Eastern Ukraine are in fact Russian cities founded and build by Russians.

Crimea had been Russian since late 1700s and was given to Ukraine in 1954 to celebrate their good relations with Russia (on the 300th anniversary of the 1654 Pereyaslav Treaty --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pereiaslav_Agreement )

Now add to this the problematic relationship with the West because of what the Germans did in WW2, the following occupation of Eastern EU and the cold war.

NATO foolishly demanded that they and the Ukranians are the ones that are going to decide if Ukrainine joins their military alliance which exists solely to counter Russia.

Russia is well aware Ukraine would be used to as a staging ground for NATO troops and their weapon systems right on their border and no doubt the Black Sea fleet would lose their base at Sevastopol.

Why would the Russians or any other country allow you in such a situation to walk in and claim that territory? No one would

So if I build a house on your land now it becomes my land? If you are a Russian living on Ukrainian soil then you need to respect its wishes to make alliances with whomever they please. You do not get to dictate a sovereign nation's defense policy.
Crimea was a gift and has had official transfer of ownership. Its not their land anymore. Ukraine and Russia were closely related for many years but that friendship has soured and after 1991 they have severed ties. Now decades later they want to renege.

Its like a bitter husband after the divorce settlement has long been finalized years later goes back to his wife and demands she return some jewelery he bought her as a gift. Its too late

Wrong. We're talking geo-politics and national security interests.

You don't understand how these things work in the real world

I hope you are at least getting paid for doing this excellent work for the Russians.

This has been debated to death in here. Ukraine had a democratically elected president with a mandate from Russian speaking majority to toe the line between Russia and EU.

Western agitators (Nuland, McCain) supported violent neo-nationalists (Svoboda, Right Sector) who hijacked genuine protests massacring civilians and police. Google McCain being all friendly in photops with Tyagnibok. Imagine Medvedev showing up on Jan 6th cheering protestors and doing photopps with Q Shaman sharing pryaniki with protestors storming the capitol?

As a result democracy in Ukraine was removed and a bloody civil war stated by putchists to reclaim eastern regions who wanted none of it.

Crimea had a referendum to leave Ukraine in 1994 which was squashed by central govt. Crimea is and was 95% Russian / Russian leaning despite communists redrawing borders for administrative reasons. All crimeans I meet and know personally (Crimean Tatars, Ukranians, Russians) all admit it’s true.

Diplomatic efforts to make a deal with putchists - Minsk1 and Minsk2 - were sabotaged by Germany and France who never intended to keep their promise given to Russians on papers and just wanted to rearm ukranians instead (que in interviews with Merkel and Hollande admitting they cheated Russians).

We now have 2025 where people cheer from the safety of their couch for a bloody war which is no longer civil with one side openly brandishing swastikas and bragging on social media they are fighting “semite-led biogarbage of the Golden Horde”. Can send you some links to social media posts of people you support. Let me know if you think Russian propaganda made them write this. And all the western liberals clap along chanting Nazi slogan Slava Ukraini. How did we end up here?
