Boss I don't think the average American would tell you it's thriving. It wasent under Joe it isn't under Trump.

Credit card debt continues to rise in the middle-class, highest unemployment rate for new graduates in over a decade, still rampant outsourcing trend to overseas employees and now we get to contend with AI which the current admin seems to be happy to encourage.

If you're a parent right now I think the sentiment is even worse given the prospects continue to get worse and worse.

I'm not attributing this to Donny, it's the way the country was trending and would have regardless gone this way under either administration.

This is basically "I feel bad for you" -> "I don't think about you at all" meme, and somewhat explains why my facebook feed is inundated with Canadian Boomers, Karens, and other assorted retards showing maps of Canada annexing the USA, bragging about "Canada" burning the White House in 1814, and having slightly more pointless frozen wasteland than the US. Ya'll Canucks are begging to get freedom'd.

Uhh Canada is in the same boat. It's pretty much similar across most Western Countries in fact unless you're aware of something I don't know.

I actually think there is a lot of partisanship baked in sadly in this.

It always amazes me when polling comes out ahead of an election and 60% of one party say the country is doing well and just coincidentally their preferred party holds the presidency… meanwhile only 30% of the opposition party feels the country is doing well or on the right track.

Fast forward 1-week after an election where the presidents party has changed and while nothing substantive may have actually changed at that point, magically that polling has flipped 180* degrees based on whether they align with the future presidents party.

On balance probably a majority or at least plurality of people don’t think things are going well… but folks views are heavily heavily influenced by partisanship and who holds the presidency.

How do you feel about Carney's pivot signal away from Canada's cozy, mostly benevolent southern neighbor and massive trading partner via cheap, already-established routes in favor of the CCP?

I think that really nothing major was done. EV tariff for Agriculture? The news wants to blow it up to make it sound like its some drastic policy shift, we have always done business with China, and will continue to do business with China and the USA. Its good for provinces like Sask where the USA does not need to buy things like canola oil but if China wants to buy the excess that's a good thing.

Its also such a trivial agreement to the USA that I am not sure why the USA would even care. And from what I understand it seems like they do not, which makes sense.

IMO this isn't a serious threat. The CIA kills off leaders and does regime changes across the globe and people really think they'd let Canada's leadership try in anyway to inch away from the US towards China?

Some level of trade isn't that big a deal and really is no threat. If any of Canadas leaders did really try to do something that truly irritates the US they'd quietly get the talk behind closed doors and it would be clear that to remain in power there's no option other than comply.

Intel agencies make these moves in Tehran, Caracas, Kiev but you really think they'd let Ottawa slip? Come now.

Yeah, its just media trying to get you to read the article or generate some type of emotion. HUGE policy shift!

Its routine trade. Have some canola oil, maybe we can get a cheaper EV for the budget EV market.

If suddenly Canada said, no more crude at all to the USA, China wants it all off a pipeline to the West Coast. Okay that would be shut down quite quickly

Donts:
Hasn't closed the border.
Hasn't brought down prices.
Didn't end the war in Ukraine.
No signs that manufacturing will come back en masse.
Didn't release the Epstein files.
Tariffs are being paid by the US consumer.
Mexico still ain't paying for that wall.

Dos:
Declared himself above the law with his actions
Hires many P2025 employees while actively denying their philosophy.
CIA director and National intelligence director leak intel to Russia
Started a trade war.
Former allies no longer trust the United States.
Made extensive cuts to Medicare to fund the DHS and corporate tax breaks.
Threatening state governers who don't give him what he wants.
Threatening congress members who don't fall in line.
Threatening court members who don't rule in his favor.
Used a muder of a prominent republican youth ambassador to propagate an internal culture war.
Sent thousands of ICE agents to terrorize cities.
Hired former proud boy and patriot front leaders to senior ICE positions; denies any systematic racism while calling colored immigrants home countries "Shitholes".
Abducted the head of another country.
Stole natural resources of another country.
Sends ominous warnings to NATO if he doesn't get Greenland.
Threatens use of military in cities in the US.

Probably missing a bunch of stuff
Who is this guy working for?

The dont certainty haven't been done. Just empty campaign promises at this point
But I would have to disagree with some of the dos. Ice agents are doing a good job of cleaning up the illegal invaders while simultaneously trying to circumnavigate around the crazy people who are actively obstructing. Trump has every right to get them out of the country and he has the backing of the majority.

Most people are sick and tired of those woke karens who are a very loud minority. At this point I wouldn't call them protesters any more they are bordering on treason and terrorist groups.

I think Trump is a self serving corrupt business man and his cabinet is filled with 2 faced psychophants but he is doing a few things right. That doesn't excuse gop from its flaws but let's not kid ourselves the left are twice as bad. This debate is between who is the lesser evil.
