I think a good thought experiment for all the events surrounding ICE is to imagine them replaced with US Marshals pursuing a fugitive

If a group of agitated and aggressive citizens surrounded US Marshals while they pursued a fugitive, getting in the Marshal's face and obstructing him and punching him, would the US Marshals knock that person down, handcuff him and drag him away for charges of obstructing federal law enforcement? If an anti-Marshal organized group stalked the Marshals as they carried out a raid and blocked the road with a vehicle, only to drive that vehicle into a US Marshal as he stood in the road in front of it, would that US Marshal open fire on the vehicle? If a group of anti-Marshal rioters tried to invade hotels where Marshals were staying and attack them in the night, what would the outcome be?

Joe Thompson resigned allegedly after pressed to investigate Renee or being unallowed to investigate the ICE agent who shot. Haven't heard anything official from Joe, just media stories covering the multiple prosecutors resigning.

diffrence here is marshals r trained properly including background checks.
a) no marshal wud stand in front of a vehicle
b ) no marschal wud fire at a moving vehicle to kill (tyre is ok)
c) u know all of that and consciously look the other way because it need to fit the mold.
