Well, sounds more like staffing issues to actually run a business when 50% or more of your staff don't show up / are in hiding. I am sure the restaurant would love to sell tacos. Guess you could argue, well pay a higher wage and you would have non-illegals applying, but then your taco costs $35 bucks and no one comes anyway.
That is the gist of it. Then there are business owners trying to get ahead of the speculated employing illegals narrative.
"It’s a hard decision. Do you open and hope that there’s community that are able to come out and support the businesses or do you close to help protect your neighbors and your community?"
so basically, and correct me now - these restaurants are employing illegal migrants (who may have lived in the US for decades) and as a consequence of the governments enforcement, they have to what, fire these staff members and now hire staff that are not migrants, presumably on a higher salary, resulting in shop closure? am i missing something here or is that it ?
The owners should see their business license revoked for exploiting human trafficking and short changing their fellow citizen neighbors and peer businesses. If they took PPP, extra punishment. Create opportunities for legal entrepreneur
