My best experience prolly was when I was working part time at
Home Depot and one day an old man (80+) came and asked which toilet was the deepest.

Confused I just answered : I don’t really know, I think they’re all quite similar ?

The man proceed: I just don’t like when my balls touch the cold water.

I cracked, we had a laugh and then we had a 10 min talk about random things, best customer ever.

Hmm well I did one job for an Esso east big wig and for landscaping he wanted all gravel and rock walls with no grass anywhere.

I tried explaining to him we live in a rain forest and grass is very important to absorb the rain

He argued with me for weeks until the 1st rain storm

After he watched 3000$ worth of materials and 3 weeks of work wash down the side of the hill he decided he wanted some grass in certain areas

Good experience - preparing a house to sell. Hired both professional painters and cleaners. Both sets were professional, clean, and very mindful of the house (not overly dirty, wore coverings, covered furniture, helped move any big furniture) for a reasonable price and was done in 1 weekend.

The following week, the cleaners came to do a professional deep clean. Provided a list (window sills, trim, ventilation and exhaust fans, and all usual cleaning). Did not miss a single item on the agreed upon list and even cleaned up the ceiling corners, the fridge, and kitchen cabinets (inside - not on the list, the house was pretty much empty as we were selling).

Was advising a client on obtaining financing for purchase of a business and for purchasing said business (think franchise). reviewed the numbers and they didnt make sense. Spoke to the owner who said he would lower the on-paper price if cash was given and that they took significant amounts of cash out of the business and not on the books. I mentioned this to the client who said they know somebody who helps manipulate financials to get a bank loan. I said I would no longer be working with them and sent them a client exit document and refunded whatever money they paid. Did not want to touch that or be associated with any of it.

I hired an elderly master electrician to rewire my last house. We upgraded from knob and tube circa 1930 to bring it up to spec with 2018 code. The house was vacant during the work, and I'd usually show up around 3pm to start my work on it. He worked from 4am-12pm every day. It was awesome as there was no overlap and no getting in one another's way. Love the old man.

Kevin will say I'm only a troll, so I'll deny my memoir. Juan will also be remembered though.

I’m a store manager at a large supermarket / grocer in Australia.

2 weeks before Christmas we had a scheduled blackout in our area for maintenance. I had to organise our electrical contractor to hire a generator so that we could switch to the generator when the area blacked out.
The electrician plugged some cables in incorrectly and left the site when he was meant to stay. We ended up losing $80,000 of meat, dairy, chilled products. We also lost the subsequent in sales as well as additional costs of contractors to come fix the issue.
I worked an 18 hour day followed by a 14 hour day, followed by a 12 hour day to have everything restored ready for Christmas.

That sucked 😅

I had to install an 18k walk-in cast in a multi-million dollar penthouse belonging to a 70-year-old penny-pincher along with my carpenter cousin. He complained that we hadn't closed the coffee pack after making it ourselves, and that it was getting so old.

My cousin said: what a whiner, I'm not his toddler, and finished the job as quickly as possible without paying attention to the small details
