the earth is a relatively flat plain with depth and dimension(liveable parts), encased in a strong glass like covering. call it a broken compass.

So its a sphere from the perspective of its non liveable function(atmosphere, glass casing, etc), but flat from the perspective of thats the only way you could live without sliding around. common sense ofc.
