Again those are guidelines from state officers who have been taught to prioritize deescalation, avoiding conflict and not causing incidents, over enforcing the law and protecting the public from criminals.
The feds don't play by the same rules.

There is already explicit legal precedent held by the 10th circuit that federal officers are not required to use the least intrusive means nor avoid putting themselves in danger, and are still entitled to qualified immunity if they do so. And that case dealt with a virtually identical case of a federal officer standing in front of a vehicle driven by a fleeing suspect who did a three point turn and then accelerated at the officer and got shot through the windows. I don't know how much more explicit the law could be

It clearly notes don't fire when there's other reasonable options which obviously moving is one rather than standing in front of it to square up, and for that matter the individual placed themselves in dangers way via standing within a few feet of a running vehicle.

Seems like there was some very reasonable alternatives. And I suspect if you were looking into actual DHS training they're probably not supposed to be Infront of running vehicles either.

STEP 1)
Create tension.

STEP 2)
Give dumbfucks a distorted sense of purpose and entitlement.

STEP 3)
Place opposing tense dumbfucks in a scenario involving guns and a right to use them under vaguely certain circumstances.

STEP 4)
Trigger fight or flight.

STEP 5)
Create a month-long news cycle.

STEP 6)
See step 1.

And the officer could have done a somersault out of the way, drawn his katana and slashed her tires all in one motion to disable her vehicle.
In the split second of deciding to use deadly force, we don't armchair quarterback to nitpick exact decisions for whether a less intrusive means was available, when it falls within the established reasonable use of force: Which it does.
She was the aggressor, she sought out conflict and brought her vehicle and used it as a weapon first to obstruct agents, then drove at one. She committed a litany of crimes some we don't bother enforcing like harassment and stalking of officers, some which were pretty blatant like obstructing traffic, moving violations and assault with a deadly weapon. She had every single opportunity to avoid this encounter, she forced it to happen. The officer doesn't need to perfectly choose every single decision he makes and be above scrutiny in all actions and decisions, he's just responding to a deadly threat with the tool he has available.

Bro is a hero, after triple tapping her he calmly puts away his pistol, calls her a fucking bitch then walks over unfazed.

That is real combat training

Spoken like a true basement dweller whose never been around combat.

No, no they didn't need to do any of that. They just needed to not stand Infront of a running vehicle and when they already made that poor decision, step out of the way rather than taking wild shots endangering others and further endangering others by killing a driver via essentially reaching in a drivers window when the vehicle is driving by you and shooting her in the head.

Classic FAFO - the "wife" is taunting the officers, drivers attempts to ram him, gets triple tapped

What a dumb way to die. Protesting in favor of illegal immigration instead of taking care of your kids or working.

It's sheer delusional narcissism. What compels a person and their partner to abandon their kids to go out to taunt, harass, and interfere with federal agents? And to be so arrogant to believe you can just drive away running them over in the process with no consequences.

There's a difference between someone choosing between various decisions and you criticizing options chosen for being suboptimal, and someone choosing between various decisions where some are criminal and aggressive and pose threats to others. It simply doesn't matter if the officer wasn't taking what you consider the best or safest approach. His choices were lawful and within the bounds of his duties, hers were criminal and needlessly aggressive at every turn.

Well I am not the one determining anything that impacts the outcome of anything, nor you. You and I are simply offering my view on the matter, that's what we do on here on JSP since we have zero real world impact on anything that happens in any of these scenarios in threads posted. I have no dog in this fight. And it is my view that this is either total negligence, a persons mind already made up on what actions they wanted to take, or the individual is just a fucking moron.

Essentially boils down to - The lady is a fucking idiot and the officer appears to also be an idiot and the result of two morons colliding resulted in the loss of life, and thankfully not further loss of life from our gun-wielding hero leaving a car out of control and taking shots obviously off the mark in a populated area.
