I can't view this video, perhaps I need a bluesky account?

I've seen the video, it clearly depicts a couple officers attempting to apprehend the woman. One officer is standing in front of the car - she accelerates in an attempt to run him over and kill him, he quickly reacts to neutralize the threat. Pretty cut and dry all on video, perhaps this video is doctored or is shown from an angle where you cannot see the officer.

Perhaps may need one. It's making the rounds on the news cycle though, and is the better angle between the two main videos thus far. I think your interpretation is very dubious.

Is it this video? Good angle with sound: https://x.com/maxnesterak/status/2008961959731859757

The woman reverses, and steers to the right in an attempt to escape. The officer sidesteps to the right, levels his weapon and shoots her.

It appears clear to me that had the officer not sidestepped, the woman would have ran him over. On the other hand, you could argue that the woman steered right to avoid the officer. However, based on the footage she certainly would have ran over the officer had he not evaded. It is also apparent to me that the officer had successfully evaded and firing on her wasn't absolutely necessary to stop a threat. I'm no lawyer but attempted murder on an officer is grounds to be fired upon, police have strong legal protections for this stuff.

Okay yeah it's the same one

Yeah that's horrendous imagine not shooting the person in the head and just standing aside.

headshotting a lady because she slightly bumps you at 3 mph isnt a good look.

its stuff like this that helps stop ICE from even getting into full swing.

still a lot of conflicting reports, but some saying she's potentially a lawyer or paralegal who follow ice as citizens to observe and confirm legality. as well as likely offer legal representation to arrestees.

if its ok to blast a lil unarmed woman going through a window then its ok to blast someone ramming you with their car?

what i am saying here is leftie frauds poured out from all over the place justifying the shooting of lil unarmed woman

I think it's more likely that that ICE agent was trigger happy, as the woman was initially responding to the people approaching her from her left and was clearly reversing and then steering towards the right to drive away. The agent then fires two additional rounds through the side window when any "threat to his life" (ie. the direction the vehicle was then heading) is no longer a relevant factor.

Side-stepping and/or utilizing non-lethal means given that it appears the driver's window was down would have been much more prudent options. Even if accepting your premise entirely, the 2 additional shots make no sense.

I oppose use of lethal force by law enforcement in all situations where non-lethal strategies would have proven effective and prudent, particularly against those who appear unarmed.

Watching that video oof. I don't know all the context but someone certainly seemed pretty trigger happy. I suspect some of these people probably should not be carrying firearms.

Yeah fk that guy. I don't know how anyone is defending him, he doesn't look to be in danger in either of the videos...

I think the main thing is that police do not have the duty to retreat. For example, if someone draws a knife and runs toward an officer, he has the right to shoot him, even if the officer has the ability to run away instead. The woman was commanded to get out of the vehicle (which *is* a deadly weapon, this is akin to being commanded to drop the knife). She refused this command and actuated the weapon. It is clear to me that the shots weren't absolutely necessary but he was in his right to fire. Police are not obligated to use less-than-lethal measures in situations like this - you could argue they should be, but by law they aren't obligated.

Refusing to cooperate with police can turn deadly fast. It's an entirely avoidable tragedy if she merely stopped the vehicle and got out.
