This sends a clear message.

Trump has basically said…we will find and persecute/kill anyone that he does not deem as friendly to the USA. The US has in the past and can go into a country and remove their leadership if they so choose…either by brute force or stealthily.

This will end in one of two ways in 2026.

1. Other countries start to play ball more.

2. WW3

I’m leaning towards option 1. Trump is the first US president in a long time JUST CRAZY ENOUGH to test MAD. The world is going to try and ride this out hoping the next US president isn’t as impulsive.

Realistically, they couldn't do that to countries which are stronger, or have a leadership with more legitimacy. For example, you would have to fly Chinooks over some 750km of Iranian territory to capture Chamenei in Teheran while they only had to fly some 40km to reach Maduro in Caracas. Russia and China are far too strong, militarily, for a commando strike against their president to have any chance of working.

Didn't they get Sadaam in less than a month when they had a stronger military than Iran at the time? They just stayed there like idiots to try and “run things”. What about sneaking past Pakistani military on top of Al Quaida to get Osama in one night once they figured out where he was.

Realistically I think there are less than 10 countries the US couldn’t kill/capture their leadership in under a month if they wanted to. Russia has been trying to kill Zelensky for a while now. Ukraine isn’t even close to where Iraq was militarily with US Aid much less prior to US Aid.

Oh, I was thinking purely about commando raids, not about a full-fledged ground invasion like in Iraq.

Speaking of Iran: considering the size of the country, its rugged topography, its large population and its comparatively heavily armed military, I'm not sure the US would be able to reach Teheran in under a month even if they wanted to. If the US threw their full military might behind it, they would of course crush Iran eventually, but it would be far more difficult than taking the one road leading to Bagdad from Basra across hundreds of miles of empty, flat desert.

I don't believe Russia has been trying to kill Zelenskyy. I think pro-russian Ukrainians have tried to kill him, but assassinating him would not be good for Russia. It would dramatically increase global support for Ukraine. People love to believe that because Putin is bad, he must also be stupid. Couldn't be further from the truth.
