The orb is way better and it’s not close

A basic 3 cold skill/3 cold mast/2 socket orb w/ 2x facets does more dmg than fathom

It would be best to convey your point with facts like a side by side via a screenshot to compare damage, cold mastery doesn't add anything because at end game cold sorc build you are already hundreds negative cold res and it's capped in pvp & pvm correct? So the real outcome is +3 blizzard skill vs +25% cold damage (assuming fathom is perfect with a 5/5) I am curious how much damage more Blizzard does at +3 more skills vs a 25% enhanced damage blizzard 3x levels below that.

On identical perfect set-ups what the math shows me is 8.5% more damage using socketed 5/5 perf fathom @ level 49 blizzard vs +6 orb w/ 2x 5/5's @ level 52 blizzard.

what you typed makes no sense. Cold res is capped at 450 meaning more -cold res adds more dmg. This orb adds -20 more cold res than fathom. That’s difference between the opps having 50-55 res vs. 70-75 res. It’s a massive difference even with the +cold dmg from fathom. +1 blizz adds ~300 on screen blizz dmg. -5 cold res (+1 cold mastery) adds a lot more than 300 dmg to both blizz and ice blast.

If someone has 450 cold res, what kind of gear does the sorc need to wear to remove 400 cold res? That's the reciepts people want to see instead of "I tested it, trust me bro" I do trust it, but atp I wanna see the receipts too. The rest of us are not doing the math; we gotta see it.
