Its something to watch the MSM and Somali community both try to circle the wagons and defend the fraudsters even when they got exposed and its blatant. Star Tribune just uncritically runs the comments of Tikki Brown saying the center was closed down as Somalis show up en masse to pretend its active. Then to brush off that debacle, their lead story right now is a hit piece on Nick Shirley.

He might be a bumbling amateur but jesus christ its a wakeup call to harken back to an era where journalists actually performed acts of journalism. MSM today thinks that having your algorithm select an AP article to repost, where the AP writers just repeat credulously whatever the 'officials' told them with no attempts to verify it in person, is journalism. Shirley broke their minds by just driving to a no-show job site and taking a video of the empty offices.

If you ask the MPD if they have proof of fraud and they say no, and ask the DHS if they've performed their statutory required audits and they say they've found no fraud, you can report your bombshell hack article claiming no fraud exists. Meanwhile the Somali fraud squad who don't get the memo are off trying desperately to cover it up. You can't just ask government officials who have made a career out of failing to enforce the law and refusing to investigate fraud- unless your goal is the same as theirs. Which of course, it is. The Somalis didn't just get away with 10 billion in fraud under everyones noses, they had allies, they had sympathizers and fellow travelers. We all knew this was happening and I've posted about it on PARD tons in the past decade. They got away with it because they are liberal allies

Begs the question what percent of the overall welfare system is just different shades of fraud. 10%, 15%, 25%? I know of similar but not as brazen examples in NY where Bangladeshis are coaching their elderly to basically commit welfare fraud (pretend they can’t walk, need significant in home care, are disabled, et. then state pays their relatives to take care of them).


Honestly this type of stuff should make most furious. There’s people slaving for meager wages while there’s a whole parasite system in plain sight siphoning billions.

Give me the illegal Mexican roofer or construction worker 10/10 times instead of these parasites that are legally here but sit on welfare for decades.

It's a well known fact that our welfare system is unsustainable and likely to collapse if nothing is done. What i hope is happening is the admin is highlighting this as much as it is as a prologue to far wider welfare reforms.

Bessent has repeatedly said they are trying to get to a ~3% deficit/gdp target. They are doing so on the GDP side with deregulation and growth in AI and whatever else but the deficit side still has to be addressed at some point. I'm hoping this the beginning of that.

It's normal people that are and should be pissed about this type of stuff but we all know if there's any real cuts in the welfare state it will be the non-productive members of society that will take to the streets and be violent.

Scandals and corruption are all the current government is capable of producing.
Countless times it had been proven to be working against you.
Why do you still have faith in voting?
