Only in public channels. Party chat is not monitored and unless someone in your group directly reports the chat, no one will know. So long as it's not said in public channels, you're good.

That being said, I tell everyone I deal with, ALL COMMUNICATION WILL BE THROUGH JSP. Then, in game, if they insist on talking, I just say "PM". If they don't get the hint, I leave.

With my join date being as early as I have it, I rarely give first. People don't like it, we will use a mediator. If they don't like that, we won't trade. I'm not going to wait in the S/A hell that is some people waiting for months on end to get someone locked. Meanwhile they spend all of their FG.

The rule was nonsense in d2, and still is, the public chat mentioning would supposedly get your account muted.

Most certainly wasn't nonsense in D2. Many times people had gotten banned because of it. Anything to force you to buy another version of their game. Nowadays, it doesn't matter but back years ago, it did.

It still matters in D4....in public channels.

It was absolute nonsense.

1st, chat offences in legacy resulted in a muted account, not an account ban
2nd, even on bnets on legacy forums you could link to jsp

Edit: I forgot that yes, you did originally catch a ban when they wardened d2jsp original pindle bot. Not for talking about the forums

You're more than welcome to keep driving up your post count, insisting that what happened back then didn't happen.

There is a reason the rule exists, and those of us that did get censored/temp banned/banned for it, know how it happened and why.

The reason the ban happened, wasn't because of a bot that was monitoring chat but rather someone reporting that it was said in public chats. Therefore everyone saying above, that you do not say it in public chat, is the reason why you still don't do so.

Nowadays, it doesn't happen in D2 because no one cares. If it happens in D4, it's because someone knows what it is, reports it and the mentioning of it. I haven't personally been affected on D4 as a result of it but to insist that it didn't/hasn't ever happened is some weird shit. Guessing covid didn't happen neither there bud?
