lynchings are a self correction problem. people get worked up, hang a few people, dust settles, life resumes.

but when you have a system that by its very structure perpetuates its own issues nothing can heal. nothing can change. its anti change by its design.

would i rather a violent criminal with a serious mental disease does 10 stints in jails and keeps getting let go to leave and hurt people over and over? or him die. well....

lynching is inherently racist and often resulted in innocent people dying, youre either missing that part or are ok with systemic , terroristic racism....i'm not sure which

institutional rot is a feature not a bug. curious that you support lynchings

Curious you think I support lynchings when I describe two evils and label one as lesser. Do I support Chlamydia if I say AIDS is worse?

Every lynching that takes place is a crime perpetrated by individuals against individuals. Just like any other act of murder by a cold blooded killer. But the destruction of our liberties and institutional safeguards and fabric of civil justice being warped and destroyed in the name of extrajudicial punishment is a crime by the state against the state. An offender breaking the law can be corrected, but a state destroying its system of law is irrecoverable.

Yeah since you're just googling rather than challenging me with any kind of independent thought let me shortcut past your next post and ask you why you think that the USA was founded in 1882 instead of settled in 1607 and founded in 1776 and the term "Lynching" is from the actions of Charles Lynch against loyalists circa the revolutionary war, a hundred years before the basis of the statistical farce you just looked up. History lesson amirite

Because Sicilians were vastly disproportionately the victims of lynching, and the biggest lynching in US history was of Sicilians. I know you're not clever enough to realize it but I was preemptively mocking the dull argument you were going to make

Again, lynching is mob vigilante justice, something agnostic to race and has existed since long before the Jim Crow south went wild with it. It was commonplace in the revolutionary era and the guy its named for was himself a notable non-racist judge who acquitted several black men accused of murder but formed extralegal tribunals to punish white loyalists.

Should consider an English lesson instead. You just proved it isn’t inherently racist.
