I've been searching for a resource that explains how it's damage to resource works.


"Damage taken this way is dramatically reduced"

"Developer’s Note: To reduce the number of required caps in the game, we adjusted this effect. This now grants less Primary Resource, but should provide roughly as much durability as before."



Anyone have some extra insight on it?
It seems to be doing fairly well for me now, but its hard to quantify how much resource I need to make it more valuable than my health without it...

It seems to be doing fairly well for me now, but its hard to quantify how much resource I need to make it more valuable than my health without it...


The damage that you take, that is instead taken as primary resource, is dramatically reduced. Meaning, if you were to take 100 damage to your health pool, whatever % they decide that damage will be reduced, is reduced to be taken to your primary resource. Damage taken to health is 100, that same damage to resource would be 10. I don't know what the % is nowadays, I always salvage melted hearts whenever I see them drop. I never even consider keeping one.

If I lose 75% of my hp (ex: 7500 life), but only have 400 resource... I may be significantly reducing my durability.
I could see it being better if I had gear dedicated to raising resource and resource generation.

Last season's mana shield required no such thing since it scaled off primary stat.

Understood. This number, i do not know what it is. Doubt many here are playing anything to do with Selig. Most are playing pallies this season.

For it, I would suggest finding the class discord for Sorcs or Necros and asking there. I honestly don't know of any build that uses it nowadays.

Brother you're crazy playing on HC. I'd punch my damn monitor if I died on there. Right now, people are getting killed by a bug, fighting Azmodan as the world boss, where other people's mercenaries are killing other players not in pvp areas.

Yeah that bug hit me last night; also hit my friend just before.

I had 1.4mil toughness (effectively max armor/res, 40% dr, 100% block chance, 22k fortified life, a 9k barrier)
1 of those corruption meteors hit me and instant pop.


Any meteor (including from other players), can damage you.
I could be wrong, but I think it has something to do with damage scaling based on the player it spawned for not whom it hits.

I never hardly even had my barrier broken (except for those flying swords)...


Everything else has seemed pretty fair so far this season.

I didn't know it was the meteors. I just remember spinning hammers under him and then all of the sudden pop and "killed by subo"

Yeah, it blames other player's &or their mercs.
Mine said "Unknown Killer"


With my friend he was under the world boss so we didn't know what it was.
We assumed the meteor but it was hard to tell.


With mine, I was isolated from the action and it just came down and wiped me.
No DOT or tick damage... just dead.

Then a few seconds later, another player got wiped the same way.


To get around it, I do world bosses alone or with friends.
If a lot of strangers are there, I sit back with my fortress ready.

I’ll be on HCL as well. Let’s game soon! Delighted to meet more HC players. Sellig is def a good one to have for HC.
