MY last usb charger I bought from the airport started clicking funny, I t eventually stopped working so I cut it open, and I found 4 seperate microchips inside the headpiece and a mic.

I highly recommend any and everyone cuts up their charging cables to confirm they aren't tampered with.

If they are not, I then recommend saudering it back together yourself so you know its clean - rather than buying a new one.

Cable management is very important

I gave up on it. I just steal one from my dads when i house/dogsit for them if mines lookin jankey. I buy the 6ft ones so they wear out quickly.

I too get 6ft cables for my bedside table just that I can watch a movie on a tablet while having it on charge.
