No, I agree Australians can't handle the responsibility of fire arms. What recourse is left to them to make secure events other than paid for security? Or bullet proof kevlar and glass? Surely there is an improvement. Even Yang Gang had ideas around this rather than shrug and move on.

That's not just an AUS question. The world has been grappling with such a question for quite some time. Well western world that is. How high do you elevate security vs convenience and being able to flow through mass crowds. Concerts, airports, schools, etc.

I don't have an answer for that. Do Americans put metal detectors at every school entrance, how do poor schools finance that, do our sports events in Canada and AUS increase security significantly, does that result in higher ticket prices. Always a tradeoff and hard to find a mid-point.

Look up how many school shootings there are in the U.S. (actually school mass shootings not gang violence near school properties) relative to how many citizens there are, how many guns there are, and how many schools and school aged children.

Hint: you've got a better chance of being struck by lightning than you do of being killed in a school shooting.

People act like its common, but it's not. There are more guns than civilians in the U.S. yet school shootings are so insanely rare. But the media will tell you it's happening every day 🤣

The Quran doesn't call people monkeys or pigs. Though it does say some damning stuff like that towards people of the time of the prophets that went against them and the message. I'm pretty sure each book has that concept.

Lastly, that's not what Taqiyya is, you can literally take 3 seconds and google it and how it's referenced in the Quran before having some random guy on D2JSP explain it to you..

here is a muslim calling non muslims "animals"
is he also living under the shade of mohammads spear?

Brother I am just giving you statistics. USA has vastly more fun violence. You said well there's more people so I gave it to you per capita.

Quite obviously aus does not have a gun issue and you are only highlighting that rare events don't need unnecessary changes. Why would aus suddenly need to strap up after such a rare event when they have minimal gun violence issues compared to say the USA per capita.

Use your own logic friend.

The statistical odds of a student dying in a school shooting on any given day in the U.S. is 1 in 614 MILLION. They are far more likely to die many other ways (skateboard, bikes, drowning, etc). The kids are far more likely to die while traveling to/from school in a car.

There are about 50-55 million students in the U.S. on any given year. There are over 340 million citizens in the U.S. with 140,000 schools (K-12). There are over 500 million civilian owned guns in the U.S.

And with all of that said, look at how many "mass shootings" there are in schools. VERY few relative to the data I just shared above. And I'm talking actual mass shootings, not what some of these news outlets like to include as a school shooting anytime there's gang related violence near a school.

The reality is gun violence OUTSIDE of schools should be way more concerning. But the media likes to go crazy as soon as there's a school shooting and everyone freaks out saying they're worried about their kids in school when in reality they're far safer there than they are outside of it 🙄

Well, the U.S. is the strongest country on earth with the strongest military and a civilian population who are armed better than most countries actually militaries.

Comparing them to weak Australia, who heavily relies on the protection from the U.S., isn't saying much.

What does that have to do with open and concealed daily carry of firearms?

What are you arguing here. The USA is powerful and has powerful military but it fails to domestically curb its own gun-violence? Very confused how that has any relevance in the point we are discussing.

Per capita, AUS has vastly lower gun violence, and very minimal larger or "mass" incidents. It makes little sense to inject further guns into the populace for every-day carry in a country that already clearly from a statistical standpoint has its gun violence under-control. Using a 1 off event as your attempt to justify having a strapped up population is tremendously stupid and obviously very shortsighted given we have per-capita statistics from other countries that have more lax gun regulation and its not in favour of less violence. Its almost comical you are also arguing how silly it is for people to point out gun violence in say American schools due to it being such a minor statistics while trying to justify adding more guns to the AUS population when this one off incident is a meniscal event statistically.
