the prosecutors are making the rather insane argument that he
was justified in shooting twice at another antifa guy carrying a gun who he mistook as a shooter, even though that guy was also just legally carrying his firearm
except his
third bullet was somehow illegal while the first two weren't, and;
no wonder it took 6 months to bring charges, the DA is a clown
imagine a world where 6 months are used to deliberate on splitting hairs over the exact sequence of gunshots that occurred fractions of a second apart

Meanwhile, the guy he was trying to shoot was cleared and the DA says he would not be charged "even though his actions could “reasonably be perceived as alarming and irresponsible.”
One guy was just carrying a legally owned firearm in public in a state that allows it, the other guy started shooting unprovoked. Either a constitutional right to bear arms exists or it doesn't. If someone can legally shoot you for merely carrying a weapon, there's no right to carry a weapon. He wasn't threatening anyone. The unprovoked shooter was either justified or he wasn't. its total insanity to parse the intent and legality of individual gunshots in a sequence
