I mean I'm in the same boat, haven't played much since the OG days and most of my FG was earned back when HR's would sell for 3fg and SOJ's were 5fg each in legacy D2. ik 5.6k ain't a lot now by todays standards but it was easily 1000+ jahs back then.

I mean, could be younger people, could be people who just simply enjoy trading and the economics of it all, as in turning junk into something good at some point via accumulation. Then you have people who are just using auto-dropper and the majority of its all scripted. Its not actually a person in game.

I can recall back in time, before d2jsp creating trade game after trade game for petty things just trying to slowly accumulate to get the next thing that I could try to flip for the next better thing. I would wager the amount of time in life spent doing that, is probably what dictated my life-path / career.

I respect this outtake and it seems to convey and communicate what many of the previous posters tried to say but in a less than cordial way.

Similar to the 1 dude who said "It ain't that deep" I guess it really is just dudes playin a game w/o caring about efficiency or increasing their fg count in any meaningful way. Like a lot of dudes will farm with suboptimal builds because they just like those builds and characters and that's what they find fun. So I guess it's just fun getting a trade even if it's not an efficient trade.

services have always been a great way to make fg 20-30 fg per person even if you only rush 2 people thats a ber rune. there is never a bumper shortage now days and even if it takes you an hour thats still a ber rune per hour more then you would ever find mfing

A lot of people don't even PVP, actually I think the bulk of playerbases in most games do not. Which is surprising, the payoff of farming for me was always I could fund PVP characters every ladder. But the reality is, most people are farming, to get things and sell it and get better things, so they can do the same thing slightly faster than they could before.

I'm going to guess as a whole, the video game crowd is probably not the one that cares most about usage of their daily time and being efficient or cost efficient with it. Afterall, games like these, we're all just chasing pixels to make our pixels do better the next run.

For me, it become a cycle I no longer enjoy and personally have moved to just RPG games that are story driven, or just hop on a random match of Battlefield that takes no longer than 30 minutes. Cant do MMOS or ARPGS these days.

Its not about the money. They want to increase size of Juan and or get away from monotonous grind. People play video games to escape life
