also houses gain value over time. so its not a great comparison.
like if you asked me for a loan of $10,000. and i asked what it's for. and you said to buy gold bullion. i'd be pretty inclined to agree, as long as you said that you would sign a contract dictating i get the gold as collateral.
but if you said it was for a trip around the world that would change your perspective and improve your mental health so that you could earn more, i'd be pretty inclined to say no.
there's a reason that student loan debt cant be erased easily, its because it carries no collateral.
Not talking about Ivys , Caltechs, Standfords and what nots.
But shouldn't your public Universities keep cost for citizens at around 8 to 15k Per semester ?
I am not talking about Med School, just basic, Business Management, Econs, Engineering etc etc .
Full tuition for the degree maybe around 70 to 100k USD max with subsidies here and there not inclusive of housing etc etc .
