I am playing single player and my budget uber smiter has one big problem: Lilith and her casting ampify damage surrounding witches.

Is damage reduction capped at 50% under any circumstances so with amplify my dmg reduction is -50%?

Or what if i stack damage reduction to 96%(shaft, storm, string, fade from treachery), will then the effective damage reduction be -4% when cursed? Or will it be again -50%?

I don't think it is capped at -50%, but only +50%. You take double damage.

But quite sure if you stack, will reduce as you calculate, like other resistances. See no reason why not.

It's just the positive 50% that is a limit.

Just kill the witches first?

If I can do Ubers on a hardcore pala with 1k life, you can do it too

Then just stack a bit of dr, maybe fade from treachery and string of ears and you’ll be fine with maxblock

And it’ll always be -100 up to -100% dr so yea it’s not worth stacking dr, just avoid amp while fighting her

How do you kill lilith with 1000 hit points? Unless you cheat, or spend 10 000 fg on the best of the best gear? Even with 50% dr, that's 250 hit points each hit, with 5% monster crit, and 5 x 250 damage poison spray, no way you'll survive 5 seconds. You don't leech that much life with smite to stay alive, leech is mitigated, even with 100% leech that is mitigated to 33%. 50% from dracul's, say 20% from gear = 70% - 67% (33) = About 25%. Even if you deal 3000 smite damage, physical reduction is 30%, 2000 - 75% = 500 hp leech, then there is 40% chance to block too. Smite can be blocked, won't hit every time. Leaving ample time for her poison spray bolts, which are 5 x 3 since multishot = 15 .. x 45 or so, and with lots of extra damage.

Also people saying high level characters die easily from time to time.

Vs crushing blow?? How does crushing blow calculation factor into damage reduction?

Only the final value of your DR% is capped between -100 and +50.

Yes, if you had 96%, you would have 50% when not cursed, 46% while drecrep'd, and -4% while amp'd.

It would be a pretty bad build overall if you played with 96% DR tho...
Like everyone said, just kill the witches first.

CB dmg only gets reduced by positive DR%.
But it does not deal more dmg against a target with negative DR%.

=IF(DR%>0;RemainingLife/10*(1-(DR%/100));RemainingLife/10)
=IF(Condition;Then;Else) <- how it works in excel.

Cl = cleansing, to remove amp.

Because he didnt, all hes done since 07 has been big dog bming noobs in the comment section asking noob questions even tho he definitely checks back more than they do
