Austin Reaves is going to be an All-NBA selection at this rate....

This season he's averaging 29/7/6 on a ridiculous 67.3% TS.

is furious seeing another white guy take over the league

how is it that Houston hasn't played a single back to back yet? scheduling is whack in the NBA

Steven Adams is still an absolute beast. My God! He's voted as the strongest player in the NBA every year for a reason.

Rockets are about to beat the Jazz on the road to improve to 13-4 on the young season.
Their 4 losses were heartbreakers to great teams. Thunder, Nuggets, Pistons and Spurs.
And I'd argue the Rockets would've won all those games if they simply had Fred VanVleet.

Kevin Durant returned after missing the last two games with a family emergency. Rockets went 2-0 without KD.

Fred VanVleet said on his new podcast yesterday he's aiming to return for the playoffs. For sure he's playing in June if Rockets make NBA Finals. But other than adding a veteran point guard before the February 5 trade deadline, and getting Tari Eason back healthy (out for another month) the Rockets are going to be fine. Also if Dorian Smith-Finney ever plays. I mean wow. Rockets pay Finney-Smith too much money to always be injured. He may be a valuable contract to trade though.

Rockets are about to play their first back-to-back tomorrow night. Against guess who? The Utah Jazz. LOL
The NBA scheduled the Rockets two straight games on the road in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two easy wins. <3
Rockets just beat the Jazz 129-101. And they do it again tomorrow night. Same arena. Same hotel. I love it.

I'm sorry about the 76ers loss. Giving up 142 points though. You know you don't deserve to win giving up that many points!! :o

I did find one thing interesting. Rockets had the #1 offense and #8 defense a few weeks ago...

After tonight's game at Utah the Rockets currently have a top 3 offense and top 3 defense in the NBA.

Net rating: 2nd (+11.9)

Offensive Rating: 2nd (123.8)
Defensive Rating: 3rd (111.9)

Once this thing fully clicks the Houston Rockets will be very dangerous in the playoffs. All while missing their starting point guard all season. People give Fred VanVleet a hard time but his leadership was second to none. He's a proven NBA champion at the point guard position. Their 6th man of the year in Tari Eason is out for over a month. Paying Dorian Finney-Smith big money and he hasn't played a single minute yet. Rockets can still improve which is scary to say...

The NBA needs somebody to challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder. Maybe the Nuggets, Lakers or Spurs can. Maybe guys. But if the Houston Rockets can make a big acquisition before the trade deadline on February 5 they may be able to take down the unstoppable OKC Thunder in a 7-game series. The Rockets have some excellent draft picks they can use in a trade. Plenty of swap picks they have over the next four years. Plus the Suns unprotected first in 2027 and 2029. The 2029 Suns pick can also be swapped with the Mavericks unprotected first in 2029.

Depends how badly the Houston Rockets believe in their chances to win the 2026 NBA Finals. Thunder and Nuggets will be tough. I understand but you have to go for it!! I'd rather sit back and say the Houston Rockets did everything they could to win the 2026 NBA Finals instead of hoarding future first-round picks that may or may not pan out.

double OT

they were down 8 with 50 seconds to go, its a miracle that they even got to overtime. unlikely that they win in OT when PG and embiid are on minutes restrictions.
Maxey with 52 minutes is a crime

The NBA is tough this year. Especially the Western Conference. The OKlahoma City Thunder are 20-1 and looking like they could legit go 80-2. I'm sure they'll only win 75 games but my God they just don't lose. The Houston Rockets will be 14-4 after tonight's game but all I ever think about is their 1 point loss at Oklahoma City in Double Overtime. Or their 3-point loss to Denver. In the playoffs none of that will matter. But they're going to have to win a road game or two at Oklahoma City or Denver in order to advance to the 2026 NBA Finals.

Giannis is the 6th youngest player to achieve 21k points

He is behind only LeBron, Wilt, Kobe, Durant, and Jordan
