I can't believe the 76ers just lost that game...
I'm sorry about the 76ers loss. Giving up 142 points though. You know you don't deserve to win giving up that many points!!
I did find one thing interesting. Rockets had the #1 offense and #8 defense a few weeks ago...
After tonight's game at Utah the Rockets currently have a top 3 offense and top 3 defense in the NBA.
Net rating: 2nd (+11.9)
Offensive Rating: 2nd (123.8)
Defensive Rating: 3rd (111.9)
Once this thing fully clicks the Houston Rockets will be very dangerous in the playoffs. All while missing their starting point guard all season. People give Fred VanVleet a hard time but his leadership was second to none. He's a proven NBA champion at the point guard position. Their 6th man of the year in Tari Eason is out for over a month. Paying Dorian Finney-Smith big money and he hasn't played a single minute yet. Rockets can still improve which is scary to say...
The NBA needs somebody to challenge the Oklahoma City Thunder. Maybe the Nuggets, Lakers or Spurs can. Maybe guys. But if the Houston Rockets can make a big acquisition before the trade deadline on February 5 they may be able to take down the unstoppable OKC Thunder in a 7-game series. The Rockets have some excellent draft picks they can use in a trade. Plenty of swap picks they have over the next four years. Plus the Suns unprotected first in 2027 and 2029. The 2029 Suns pick can also be swapped with the Mavericks unprotected first in 2029.
Depends how badly the Houston Rockets believe in their chances to win the 2026 NBA Finals. Thunder and Nuggets will be tough. I understand but you have to go for it!! I'd rather sit back and say the Houston Rockets did everything they could to win the 2026 NBA Finals instead of hoarding future first-round picks that may or may not pan out.
