This would be a huge achievement. One that very few people have ever actually completed legitimately. HC Classic SSF 99 is wild and I hope you get there.

I would say go with a hammerdin and use full irathas until you collect enough godly gear to safely remove the added resist from the set. My hammerdins can clear chaos with absolutely no issues at all. I generally use full irathas, twitch, cast/res rings, shard, 10/30/20 bone shield with priz socketed with pdia. All my resists are 85 with 5874 hammer dmg.

The only down side to this build is that you only have 70 fcr (48 cast breakpoint) so until you swap your gear and use magefist or a cast ammy it's a pretty slow attack. This does allow you to use any rings you want since you don't need cast until swapping your gear.

P.S. I was thinking that if I build a Hamerdin, I'll take two Soj and a shield. I want The Ward to maximize my resistances.

It won't make a huge difference but when you are in the 90's ripping through chaos you won't have to worry about getting temp bans. You can also just keep exiting your game if you almost die and not have to worry about game restrictions. It's smarter to do it on D2R, I just thought it was legacy for some reason.

clvl 99 on classic is impossible... no one's done it legit'ly to this day as far as I know... highest you'd see on bnet/online/mp is like clvl ~95, and that's likely only with a really good devoted team helping them...

the issue for most of these builds is getting the gear for survival and/or for damage (or usually, gear needed for both survival and damage, laughs), as well as exp/clvls for more needed sk pts too, as dying is really catastropic as you get higher and higher clvls...

with a dedicated team, it's definitely at least possible (though still would take an extremely long time, many years), as a good team build combo party enables you to obliterate the runs

(bo barb + enchant sorc* + whatever/whoever) // just being able to have BO, helps so much, but that's only with mp/online or running multiple instances of game and/or with bots, not an option for true sp play, it's a lot harder to survive without the larger life pool from BO barb, sighs

(conviction paladin + lower resist necro + elemental damage classes/builds)

(might pal + concentration pal + fanaticism pal + amp/decrepify necro + 4 physical bowazons or 4 ww barbs)

(etc etc etc)
