I didn't blame Trump nor did anyone here. I am saying as it spirals out of control I don't expect it will be toned down during this administration, and the larger the beast grows with more time the harder its going to be to get under control by future ones. Democrats and republicans alike have done very little to date.

And as it grows so does state revenues making it harder and harder to try to get any regulators to act.

go back and reread #1 were you use it as a opportunity for a trump rant

Yea yea prove me wrong and all that.

Both are a stain and society would see a massive uptick with both gone. But we cant get rid of vices because thats communist, we have to allow people to destroy themselves and each other.

Cigarettes and vapes: net negative
Alcohol: net negative

And now we have vices in the form of AI. Companions and instant pictures and video and shit. Cant wait to see where society goes after that gets monitized.

there's denial

and then there are facts:

In 2023, the U.S. gun death rate was approximately 13.7 deaths per 100,000 people, though this figure is a slight decrease from previous years, reaching a total of over 46,000 deaths.
While the overall death rate declined, gun suicides hit a record high, and firearms remained the leading cause of death for children and adolescents aged 1–17.

The U.S. has some of the highest firearm mortality rates among high-income countries, both overall and for children and teenagers.
Among high-income countries, the U.S. ranks first for firearm homicides per capita among populations over 10 million.
Some U.S. states have gun death rates closer to those seen in countries experiencing active conflict.

European data: Rates of gun deaths per 100,000 inhabitants vary by country. For example, in 2023, Albania's rate was 0.89 and Sweden's was 0.5.
High-income countries: Compared to other high-income countries, the U.S. has significantly higher rates of gun violence.
Global context: A study found that the U.S. is one of six countries that account for over half of global gun deaths.

Correlation with gun availability

Studies suggest a link between firearm availability and rates of firearm injury, with more available firearms correlated with more frequent injuries.

Wait, so you are saying if people have more access to guns, there is a high potential shootings?
How did you come up with this ground breaking concept and why have I never heard this from anyone before?
Jesus would be very proud of you, kudos.

Ty, ty! ^_^

So ultimately less guns (more regulation) = less shootings (less innocent victims), right?

Sure, makes perfect sense from a pure mathematical point of view.
However, life is about freedom, not math.

Any man who is willing to sacrifice necessary freedom for a little temporary safety, deserves neither Liberty nor Safety.
