We don't know, but if it's not? You only have this one life, and it doesn't last forever, so logic says that we should try to enjoy it while we can and not take it for granted. All we do know is that we're alive here and now and for all we know, this is all we'll get, so instead of being negative about our situation, we should do our best to improve our lives. Life is what you make it, you know. It's not easy, but almost anything is possible if you really desire it and you try and you don't give up. There's poor people in poor countries who are smiling and happy and they don't say their life is sucky. I think we have a comfort crisis on our hands. People have become so used to being comfortable that they have no resistance to any sort of adversity. Embrace the suckiess, embrace the discomfort, and you'll stop taking things for granted and get to enjoy the small things.
It's like what Bob Ross said, you got to have some sadness so you know when the good times come.
