When did anti-natalism get so popular?
Its one self-evidently moronic take on nihilism yet its already had its first suicide bomber
Did the pro-choice movement fetishizing abortion result in this, or what?
the ultimate irony is abortion was started in america as a eugenics movement to curb birth rates in urban black people. and that's how it operated for decades. most white families tended to push shotgun weddings in cases of unplanned pregnancies. it was so common that it became a trope in american TV shows. "i'm pregnant, my dad says we're getting married", hijinks ensues. then through a vague and slow degradation of white culture generally, and slipping socio economic standards in the communities as outsourcing killed the middle class, abortion trends became far more like a standard demographics graph. women's liberation was the slow upward slope that met these trends and it became decoupled even from the child at all, it was simply an attack on female autonomy. now we live in a confusing society where men of my generation are participating in child rearing in the house at levels that would make a 1950's trapped behind a newspaper dad puke in his mouth, while paternal right's have lagged behind considerably. we live in a society where the stay at home mom is still the Golden Calf that you can't criticize, but also a professional career and college degree are a woman's highest calling. people unironically state the 77 cents on the dollar stat 2 decades after it was debunked, and in the meantime women have further dug into niches that provide minimal value like HR and clerical work, while at the same time dominating high pay sectors like lawyers and doctors which are chewing the edge of that 77 cents year after year. BUT THE WNBA! its a mess. no one can tell who in a crowd was a rape baby, but about 50% of them think they shouldnt exist.
