A south carolina woman has been arrested on attempted murder charges after trying to abort her own pregnancy.
And this opens up a whole conundrum of ethics over personhood and rights in the post-roe nation.

20 year old Jocelyn Byrum was 27 weeks pregnant and told investigators that she took a uterine contraction drug to induce labor in an attempt to have an abortion, resulting in her delivering her pre-term baby. She abandoned the still-living baby in the toilet and did not attempt to render aid or try to alert anyone. She claimed she had a miscarriage when asked by her family, who then alerted EMTs who rescued the baby. At least for now, since it remains alive and in critical condition. The investigators found text messages on her phone showing she knew she was pregnant at least five months ago and searched for abortion pill information and texted a friend saying “my abortion pills came in”
South Carolina law that went into effect after the repeal of Roe, bans abortions after 6 weeks with exceptions for nonviability / life of mother, and extends to 12 weeks for rape/incest.

It's all murder, it's just whether you find the murder acceptable or not.

It's murder regardless of when.

Literally not up for debate or discussion. This is a fact with no room for disagreement, sorry.

Personally, I view abortion as that which terminates pregnancy but that it doesn't necessarily mean that it terminates the life of the fetus/child. For this reason, I don't agree with the attempted murder charge but do find sense in the neglect charge.

When the baby could survive outside on its own.
I consider banning abortion to be slavery and torture also.

People disagree with facts all the time, it's all good. Doesn't make them right.

aborting baby inside the womb= not murder
trying to kill baby outside the womb (or in this case, the woman delivering the baby but leaving it in the trash)= attempted murder

Google the dunning kruger effect.
People think they are right all the time, but your feelings are not my problem.

100% of arguments for this have been presented and the only fact in this topic is it is murder 100% of the time.

You're done and can sign off now.

So where is that line drawn between attempted murder, a duty of care to render aid, desecration of human remains and disposing of waste tissue?
Do we just magically flip a switch between 'abortion is a-okay' and 'negligent homicide by failing to render aid' by having doctors split hairs over whether the fetus was technically alive at the exact moment of delivery, or stillborn, or died seconds later?
