So i just noticed windows 10 is stopping support so i guess i have no choice but to upgrade... im not sure if my laptop is compatible for the upgrade as I have my settings are controlled by my organization (whatever that means...) i dont understand it's a personnal laptop og zephyrus s15 gx502lws (which was bought on newegg in 2018 and i installed it myself.

what would be my budget needed if i wanted to build a small pc (small motherboard) something quiet and discreet no rgb or flashy colors that does not overheat and can run old games like runescape, but could also run newer games (no ultra needed) something like mid graphics with a okay monitor (no need 4k fancy and i dont play online first person shooters competitive so slower ms is fine)

i live in canada and im fine with building a basic computer (no watercooling or anything fancy) i built 2 rigs years ago..

im still debating if a laptop would be better... maybe cheaper because i dont have a monitor right now as i have always thought the laptop was getting kinda hot and didnt really like it.. im thinking another laptop might have the same issue

id appreciate any help :hail:

If u do get a new PC, 32GB RAM and at least 12GB GPU Memory is best

Also if u intend to play multiple games, Windows 11 23H2 is most stable (24H2 and 25H2 is terrible)

SteamOS is fine so long as the games you play don't have Kernel level Anti-Cheat (Fortnite, Apex, Valorant, LoL etc). Windows is a poopshoot.

Alternatives would be Bazzite or CachyOS. I very much prefer and recommend CachyOS with or without handheld mode.

It's becoz yr BitLocker is Enabled

As far as I know, it is not possible to split a partition on a BitLocker encrypted drive without turning encryption off.

There is no other option than turning encryption off, then shrinking the partition and creating the second partition
in the new unallocated space.
