Doesn't really matter all that much at this point. Back in the 2000s the people who opposed it were doing so in order to stop the further moral decay of society from taking place. Now that we're living in degenerate furry / predator / grooming / discord / bugchasing world, that damage has been done.
Also, slippery slopers of decades ago beyond vindicated.
No need for the defeated attitude.
This was never going to be stopped by voting.
But once enough realize this fact we can change it with ease.
There is plenty of rope.
