I'm currently battling with myself on which gear combo to go with here:

Back in LoD this was a non-issue ... but in d2r I need more ias to reach max frames.

Right now I am currently using a grief zweihander to hit max ias with only one added ias jewel. This allows me to use a more helpful jewel in my helm (ed/ar/def/dex)

Should I go back to a grief berserker axe in order to get the +41 to max damage that the base offers? In doing so, give up the melee jewel I mentioned above, for another 40ed/15ias to hit ww breakpoint on the slower zerker base.

Which do you guys think is more beneficial? Any bvb guys here? Thanks!

Put on like a 700 def viso
Fort
Rends / dracs
Gores

Go like 15 ias 100 ar jewels and just hit them like a truck and also put on some fhr.

Don’t be confused by the fairy dust 30 Ed 60 ar jewels. Just max defense, max damage, max range and some open wounds and then hit them.

Don’t stop mid ww, bvb is a dueling style.

You can pop in some gcs to increase crit and all kinds of stuff man.

These people will never help you, because they can’t.

I appreciate the response, but I think you're missing the point of my question.

I have played BvB for a very long time, I have no confusion about what gear works and what doesn't.

This is a more specific scenario where I can choose:

A.) Zweihander + 1x 40/15 jewel, + 1x 30ed/20ar/30def/9dex jewel

OR

B.) Berserker axe + 2x 40/15 jewels

It's definitely a close decision, both have benefits... basically weighing the option of a bit more damage, vs a little more well-rounded
